Talk It Through defaults to a coach persona, not an audience member. Four more personas argue from your actual briefing, and you cannot switch between them mid-session. Here is which one to pick, and what actually gets saved.
Open a finished briefing, click into Talk It Through, and there is a picker most speakers walk straight past: "Who are you talking to?" Five options sit there, and the one already selected is not an audience member. It is Coach. Hit "Start talking" without touching that picker and you get direct coaching, not a room.
Coach is a coach, not a rehearsal room
The default persona critiques you from outside the conversation. It talks through the briefing with you, tests a story, rewrites an opening, and tells you plainly whether something landed. That is genuinely useful, and it is also not what rehearsal is supposed to simulate. A room does not tell you your opening needs work. It just stops listening.
The other four personas do not coach at all. They stay in character as someone actually sitting in that room, reacting the way that person would rather than narrating the reaction for you.
The four in-character personas argue from your actual briefing
Supportive listener, Skeptic, Lost in the jargon, and Checked out sound like stock roleplay characters, and they are not. Each one runs from its own system prompt built out of the same briefing you already read: your industry, your room, your topic, and the report Audience Insider produced for this specific event. When Skeptic asks what your evidence is, it is asking about a claim from your briefing, not reciting a canned objection. When Checked out perks up, it is because you said something the briefing itself flagged as worth the room's attention.
